Engineering Pump Efficiency
Wastewater pumps are typically single-stage and submerged in the waste stream with an open impeller design that allows for the pumping of heavily contaminated water which often contains various organic, inorganic, and mineral solid particles.
Portable and compact option for small basins
Best for handling graywater with smaller solids
Exceptional solids handling capabilities
Ideally suited for chopping stringy and fiberous solids
Grinds through the toughest materials found in waste streams
Mitchell Lewis & Staver offers a wide variety of pumps for handling liquids with included solids. Solids handling pumps can be of the submersible, self-priming, or horizontal end suction varieties. Should electrical power be unavailable or undesired, we also carry a line of solids handling air operated diaphragm pumps (AODD).
For municipal applications, the solids handling requirement is typically 3” which can be done by most 4” and larger submersible, self-priming, or horizontal end suction type pumps. Industrial applications usually have smaller solids size requirements, but a higher concentration of solids in the liquid. For these and other applications with a higher percentage of solids, an AODD or progressive cavity pump can be used. We also carry a submersible line of slurry pumps that can move liquids with up to 60% solids (slurries).
I enjoy problem solving and finding the right products for a specific application. Since 1992, I have focused on Sump, Effluent and Sewage (SES) pumps for commercial and industrial applications along with multi-stage boosters. Mitchell Lewis & Staver carries a wide variety of product lines to service a lot of different markets, which affords me the opportunity explore and be creative in finding solutions.
